How we turn your postcode into a trusted local quote
We combine official UK postcode data, the EU's PVGIS solar database, and a panel of vetted MCS-certified installers to give you an honest estimate — then match you with one local expert.
Four simple steps
No call centres, no pressure, no lead resale.
Enter your postcode
We geocode your address using postcodes.io and confirm you're inside our Hampshire coverage area: Eastleigh, Chandler's Ford, Winchester or Southampton.
If your postcode is outside our patch, we tell you honestly rather than passing you to a national broker.
We run a real solar calculation
Your latitude and longitude are sent to the EU's PVGIS (Photovoltaic Geographical Information System) database to calculate realistic annual generation for your roof.
Default assumptions: 4 kWp system, 35° roof pitch, south-facing, 14% system losses. If PVGIS is unavailable we fall back to a Hampshire regional average.
Tell us about your roof & timeframe
After the estimate you can request a free quote. We collect your roof type, aspect, installation timeframe and contact details so the installer can prepare properly.
Your details go to one installer only — never a comparison network.
Matched with an MCS-certified installer
We forward your lead to a single vetted, MCS-certified installer who actually works in your town. They contact you directly to arrange a no-obligation survey and formal quote.
Every installer on our panel has valid MCS certification and public liability insurance.
Real solar data, not guesswork
PVGIS is the European Commission's open solar performance database. It uses decades of satellite weather data to estimate how much electricity a solar array will produce at a specific location.
- Location-specific irradiance and temperature data
- Accounts for shading, panel angle and orientation
- Used by installers and researchers across Europe
- Free, transparent and regularly updated
MCS-certified installers only
MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is the UK's recognised quality mark for renewable installers. Before any installer joins our panel we check their MCS registration, insurance and local reputation.
- Independent proof of competence and equipment quality
- Required for manufacturer warranties and some export schemes
- We remove installers whose standards slip
- You only speak to installers we'd trust on our own homes
